Joanna Grey Talbot is a North Carolina native and graduate of Peace College and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Currently a freelance writer, marketing consultant, and the director of marketing at the Matheson History Museum in Gainesville, Florida, she has also worked as a teacher in Charlotte, North Carolina, and customer service representative in Falls Church, Virginia.

Joanna has been published in Our Town magazine, Local Life magazine, LocaLeben Magazine, Go Wanderer Magazine, Home Magazine Gainesville, the Guide to Greater Gainesville, Senior Times magazine, and Thirty on Tap lifestyle blog.  She is the author of two history and travel blogs: "New Stories From Old Towns" and "Florida Revealed." Her interests include history, research, genealogy, travel, and reading. Joanna lives in Statesville, North Carolina, with her husband, Cecil, and rescue dog, Percy.
